COACHING & VOLUNTEERING

Toronto Shamrocks volunteers  can get involved at the club or community level, whether you can offer a few hours of time a year at specific events, or work several hours a week year-round. Whatever your interests, talents, background and availability, The Toronto Shamrocks have volunteer opportunities for you.

COACHING AND VOLUNTEERING FAQS

1) Do I need any certification to coach with the Shamrocks?

Yes. The GTHL will be following Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) requirements for coaches entering the 2020-21 season. The outlined requirements will be for all coaches (house league, select, A, AA, & AAA) who wish to be rostered to a team. Previously trained coaches may already have many of these requirements. To view the requirements and register for courses.

2) Do I need any certification to volunteer with the Shamrocks?

Absolutely not. Simply contact us and lets have a chat.

3) Do I require to have a child playing hockey with the Shamrocks in order to volunteer?

No. Although parents and guardians are encouraged to volunteer with us, any member of the community is able to help out.

4) Do I need to have any hockey experience to volunteer with the Shamrocks?

No. Although hockey experience is a must in order to volunteer with on ice activities, there are many opportunities that involve absolutely no hockey skill or knowledge.

5) Can I volunteer as a Coach / Assistant Coach on a competitive team?

Yes. Most coaches would highly appreciate help with coaching / training. We are here to serve the community.
